Dolead operates comparison and quote-request websites (the "Interfaces") that connect consumers seeking products or services with professionals likely to meet their needs (our "Partners"). This Privacy Policy describes how Dolead, Incorporated, 177 Huntington Ave, Ste 1703 PMB 68292, Boston, MA 02115-3153 ("Dolead", "we", "us"), collects, uses, discloses, and protects the personal information of users in the United States, and the rights and choices available to you. It supplements our Cookies Notice and is incorporated into our Terms of Use.
a. Information you provide. When you complete a questionnaire on one of our Interfaces, we collect the information you enter. Fields required to fulfill your request are marked with an asterisk; all other fields are optional, and leaving them blank does not affect your request. Depending on your request, this information may include:
| Category | Examples |
|---|---|
| Identification | Last name, first name, title |
| Contact details | Email address, telephone number, postal address |
| Personal life | Lifestyle, household situation, pets, consumption habits, occurrence or absence of a claim |
| Professional life | Role, profession, professional address, telephone number and email address |
| Economic and financial information | Income range, estimated wealth range, homeowner or renter status |
b. Information collected automatically. When you use the Interfaces we collect your IP address and information from cookies and similar technologies, as described in our Cookies Notice. We may send an SMS code to the mobile number you provide to confirm your contact details.
c. Information from our Partners. After we connect you with a Partner at your request, the Partner may inform us of the follow-up given to your request. This is limited to what is strictly necessary for the performance of our contract with that Partner.
We do not purchase personal information from data brokers or third-party marketing lists. Our services are directed to adults; we do not knowingly collect personal information from anyone under 16 years of age.
Our collection and use of personal information is limited to what is reasonably necessary and proportionate to these purposes.
Dolead does not itself send you marketing communications.
Our use of cookies is described in the Cookies Notice. You can refuse advertising cookies through the cookie banner, and opt out of the sale or sharing of personal information via the "Do Not Sell or Share My Personal Information" link in the footer of our sites.
| Personal information | Active retention | Archive |
|---|---|---|
| Information required to connect you with Partners, and follow-up information from Partners | 2 years from last active contact | 3 additional years, solely for the defense of claims |
| Optional information you chose to provide | Until you withdraw consent, and no longer than 5 years | Deleted within one month of a withdrawal request |
| IP address | 1 year | Deleted thereafter |
If a complaint or claim is pending, we may retain the relevant information for the duration of the proceedings, solely to defend our rights. Records of privacy requests are retained for 5 years; identity documents provided for verification are deleted once identity is confirmed.
We maintain technical and organizational measures designed to protect personal information against alteration, loss, destruction, and unauthorized access, including access restricted to employees who need it, pseudonymization where possible, and secured networks and servers. No internet transmission is completely secure, and we encourage you to take your own precautions.
Any US user may ask us to access, correct, or delete the personal information we hold about them:
We may need to verify your identity before acting on a request. There is no fee. Where your information was disclosed to a Partner, we will pass your request to that Partner; a short delay may occur between our confirmation and the Partner completing its own processing. If we cannot locate records matching the information you provide, we will tell you so within the response period.
This section applies solely to residents of California and supplements the rest of this Privacy Policy. It is provided under the California Consumer Privacy Act of 2018, as amended by the California Privacy Rights Act of 2020 (together, the "CCPA"), and its implementing regulations. Terms used in this section, such as "personal information", "sell", "share", "service provider" and "business purpose", have the meanings given to them in the CCPA.
In the preceding 12 months, we have collected the following categories of personal information about California consumers:
| CCPA category | Examples (see Section 2) | Source |
|---|---|---|
| Identifiers | Name, postal address, email address, telephone number, IP address | Directly from you; automatically |
| Customer records (Cal. Civ. Code 1798.80(e)) | Name, address, telephone number | Directly from you |
| Commercial information | Products or services you are seeking, consumption habits, follow-up given to offers you requested | Directly from you; from the Partner you asked to be connected with |
| Internet or network activity | Interactions with our interfaces, cookie data (see our Cookies Notice) | Automatically |
| Professional or employment information | Role, profession, professional contact details | Directly from you |
| Financial information you choose to provide | Income range, homeowner or renter status | Directly from you (optional fields) |
We collect personal information (i) directly from you when you complete a questionnaire on our interfaces, (ii) automatically when you use the interfaces, and (iii) from our Partners, limited to the follow-up given to your own contact request. We do not buy personal information from data brokers or third-party marketing lists. We collect and use these categories for the purposes described in Section 3, and our collection is limited to what is reasonably necessary and proportionate to achieve those purposes.
When you submit a contact request, we provide the personal information you have given us to the Partner(s) you asked to be connected with, in exchange for consideration. Under the CCPA this constitutes a "sale" of personal information. We may also share hashed identifiers with advertising providers for measurement and audience purposes, which may constitute "sharing" under the CCPA.
In the preceding 12 months we have sold or shared the following categories: identifiers; customer records; commercial information; professional or employment information; and financial information you chose to provide. The categories of recipients are: the Partners you asked us to connect you with, and digital advertising providers (hashed data only). In the same period we have disclosed the same categories, plus internet or network activity, to service providers (hosting, analytics, and management tool providers) for business purposes.
We do not sell or share the personal information of consumers we know to be under 16 years of age. We do not collect or use sensitive personal information for purposes other than those permitted by the CCPA regulations.
You may use an authorized agent to submit a request on your behalf; we may require proof of the agent's authority.
For requests to know, delete, or correct, we will verify your identity by matching information you provide against information we hold, and may request additional information solely for verification. Requests to opt out of sale or sharing are not subject to verification; we may only ask for the information necessary to locate and process your request. If we cannot locate any records matching the information you provide, we will inform you within the response period. If we cannot verify a deletion request, we will deny the deletion but treat your request as a request to opt out of the sale or sharing of your personal information.
We will confirm receipt of your request within 10 business days. We will respond substantively within 45 calendar days. Where reasonably necessary, we may extend once by a further 45 days and will notify you of the extension. Opt-out requests are honored within 15 business days.
We retain each category of personal information for the periods described in Section 6 of this Privacy Policy, and in no event longer than is reasonably necessary for the disclosed purposes.
Dolead operates exclusively online and has a direct relationship with the consumers from whom it collects personal information. As permitted by Cal. Civ. Code Section 1798.130(a)(1)(A), we provide an email address and web forms for submitting requests instead of a toll-free telephone number.
California residents may also request certain information regarding disclosure of personal information to third parties for their direct marketing purposes. To make such a request, write to: Dolead, Incorporated, 177 Huntington Ave, Ste 1703 PMB 68292, Boston, MA 02115-3153, United States, referencing Section 1798.83 of the California Civil Code. ("JAMS") then in effect, with the place of arbitration in Santa Clara County, California, conducted in English. Either party may seek injunctive or other equitable relief in a court of competent jurisdiction. Each party bears its own legal fees; other arbitration costs are allocated as the tribunal may award.
